Jacq received an email last month (Nov 18) from City of Subiaco. It was an invite to quote on a Christmas window installation. They were planning on a Christmas window trail based around the beautiful poem by Clement Clarke Moore 'Twas the night before Christmas'
So, Jacq sketched up an idea of a huge open book with picture dioramas and her concept was accepted. She was given the first two verses...
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
Jacq painted and framed two large sheets of mdf (2400mm x 1200mm) measured up and cut out holes. Painted them white. Handpainted lettering then developed 4 dioramas. A snowy scene, a mouse asleep in a teacup, a front room with fireplace and christmas tree and a bedroom with dancing sugarplums!
