ARTTRA2017
,Over the weekend of 1-2nd April 2017, Claremont held its annual art festival. Part of the festival was 'Art Contained' 10 x 3m cubed shipping containers 'scattered' throughout Bayview Terrace, each housing an interactive art installation. Jacq worked with artist Ruth Acton on her concept of 'Once upon a time' and Little Red Riding Hood. This was based on Jacqs love of old vintage story books. They made a huge forest diorama out of old cardboard and using a wire system, installed their pieces to make a giant pop up book. 2 rolls of white paper were hung on each door and people were invited to write a line to make up a story - they were bizarre!!
Large boxes were used for the trees and woodland creatures. At the very back of the container was a mirror that had been acid painted and trees painted on and a Little Red Riding Hood. Children could stand on the first step and peek through to see Little Red Riding Hood and if they could stand on tippy toes they could also see themselves in the mirror in the forest.
